Over the last couple of weeks our class has been learning about some of our U.S symbols. We have been reading text, using an online database called Pebble Go and we have gone on several virtual field trips in order to learn facts about these important symbols. We had some 3rd grade "tour guides" visit our class and help us maneuver through some of the virtual websites. The students took notes after visiting the White House, Statue of Liberty, Capital Building and the Lincoln Memorial. The students loved seeing these symbols in such a real setting and they learned a lot of interesting information. If you are interested in checking out some of these sights at home check out the Padlet below, along with some of our pictures from that day. Once we return from Spring Break, the students will choose 1 symbol that they are interested in further researching and then they will create and present an informational slide show!!! This past week we have been working really hard to show what we know and have learned throughout the year. I have asked them to do a lot of hard work and they have. I am so proud of them and all that they are learning. We got to do a nice little booster activity where we watched a cute video about how we are all different and special. Then each student wrote a sentence about why they are special. Check out the Padlet below to see why your kid thinks they are special. lastly, after such a crazy week and all their hard work, I was so glad we got to celebrate with a super fun class party, a week of wonderful weather and a nice break from school. I hope you all enjoy your week and get recharged! Here are some pics from the party!!!!
