This has been a wonderful year and a fantastic last month of school. Thank you parents for sharing your kiddos with me and being so supportive. I have loved being their teacher! This month at students finished their animal research and Google slides presentations. They learned how to add and subtract within 20, and we worked on learning/reviewing nouns, verbs and adjectives. Students also wrote an opinion piece on how their mom was the best or special. The last week of school; students worked hard helping me clean and organize everything in the classroom. We also made some messes! We made our own "Most Magnificant" thing using resources from the maker space room, we played minute to win it games, we did side walk chalk and popsicles and we celebrated our wonderful class with our last warm fuzzy party of the year! We also squeezed in some year book signing, a class awards ceremony and of course...FIELD DAY!!!!

Below is a link to our class US symbols book:
https://issuu.com/tcjag/docs/farrell_symbol_classbook After learning about important US symbols and their significance, students created their own symbols. Social Studies: In April we learned about the parts of the plants and the function of each plant. We learned how each part is integral in the growth and survival of the plant. We also planted sunflower seeds and made sure they had air, soil, water, sunlight and space to grow. Students also wrote an informational writing piece on plants. Math: In April we worked on collecting and interpreting data. Thank you to all of those that participated in our Twitter polls. We had a blast graphing our results! We also learned about the attributes of 2D and 3D shapes. Student enjoyed exploring and making shapes this month! Field Trip Fun- In April, we went on a field trip to the Coterie Theater to see "Where the Wild Things Are". The students loved being apart of this interactive story. We weren't allowed to take pictures but we included a few from our lunch by the fountains. We were so inspired we turned our own class into a jungle by hanging out Retelling Wild Thing Trees. The students lived our new ceiling decor! Big Buddies and Carnival- In April we also got to celebrate Earth day by making awareness posters with our big buddies and we got to have some fun at the school carnival! The students really loved the arcade games made by our very own 4th grade students!
