The last couple of weeks Ms. Busenitz, "Ms. B" has been working with some of teh students on reading and comprehension skills. After reading the book, "Black Snake and the Eggs", students created posters about the book that described the characters, problem, solution and central message/moral of the story. Then students got to share their posters with the class.
Also the past couple of weeks the students have been learning about significant presidents, including Washington, Lincoln and our current president Obama. After learning about these presidents, students worked with Ms. B to brainstorm characteristics that these presidents embody. Then, they were challenged to write an opinion piece where they prove that they would make a great president. Many students are still finishing publishing their writing, but here is a sneak peak at a few. As you can see, we not only have a class full of great writers, but they are great citizens and leaders too. I plan to post more next week as more students finish up.
