Last week we played math games and practiced reading and writing our numbers within 120. Many students worked on the level 4 skill of reading and writing numbers within 1000.
This week have been working on identifying the number tens and ones in a 2 digit number and we have been learning about the value of each digit. (68=60+8). Next week we will continue learning about digit values and comparing numbers.
Writing/ Social studies:
-I can write an informational piece.
-I can research and explain the contributions of a historical figure.
Last week students chose a president of their choice to research. Students then organized their thoughts in a pre-writing organizer in order to make sure that they included an introduction, 3 facts and a conclusion. This week students will be publishing their writing in a google doc.
- I can identify the purpose of text features (table of contents, headings, bold words, glossary, labels, captions) in an informational text.
Students are learning how to use text features to help them find and gather important information from an informational text.
We had a blast on the 100th day. We played games, built structures with 100 items, wrote about being 100 and having $100. We also ate 100th day treats. Thank you for all of your donations.
We celebrated Valentines day with a wonderful party! Thank you Mrs. Pescetto for all of your hard work and planning and thank you to all of our parents that came to help.
